World Championships
Die 6. Taekwondo-Weltmeisterschaft fand vom 20. bis 23. Oktober 1983 in der dänischen Hauptstadt Kopenhagen statt. Insgesamt wurden zehn Wettbewerbe in unterschiedlichen Gewichtsklassen ausgetragen. Es nahmen 353 Athleten aus 51 Ländern teil.

- Lee Jae-Bong (Korea) – Gold
- Thomas Fabula (Germany) – Silver
- Ahmet Ercan (Turkey), Gustavo Sanciprián (Mexico) – Bronce
Taekwondo World Championships
“The 6th Taekwondo World Championships took place from 20 to 23 October 1983 in the Danish capital, Copenhagen. A total of ten competitions were held across various weight categories. 353 athletes from 51 countries took part.”
Prelimenary fights with Nuno Damaso (Switzerland). Besides Thomas Fabula, Dirk Jung and Eugen Nefedow also won a silver medal from the German Taekwondo national team in Copenhagen, Denmark, Broendby-Hallen.
